Project Overview
The Al Barsha Park Afforestation project focuses on expanding green coverage across 340 hectares in the Al Barsha district. This initiative is part of the IDOM Green 2040 master plan, targeting native species planting, smart irrigation deployment and long-term ecological monitoring.
Objectives
- Plant 12,000 native trees (Phoenix dactylifera, Prosopis cineraria, Ghaf).
- Deploy smart drip irrigation across all planting zones.
- Achieve 85% sapling survival rate within the first 18 months.
- Obtain NOC approval for all 5 sub-zones before Q2 2025.
Current Status
Phase 1 (zones A & B) completed with 4,200 trees planted. Phase 2 irrigation network installation is underway. NOC clearance obtained for zones A, B and C.
